Wentworth Institute of Higher Education is located opposite Central Railway Station and is distinguished by its small classes and support for the individual student. Wentworth Institute provides high-quality study programs in business information technology and interactive media at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Our mission is to provide industry-relevant and innovative higher education courses to address the learning needs of committed students and, in turn, the future needs of the businesses and industries in which they’ll contribute their values, skills and knowledge.
Wentworth Institute’s higher education degrees are accredited through the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and by the relevant professional bodies. All our courses have been developed in close collaboration with industry so that students can gain relevant and sought-after skills. Our courses are designed to lead to successful and fulfilling careers in various fields, both in Australia and in the global marketplace.

Policies and Services
Admission criteria
Australian Year 12 students
Students who have completed an Australian Year 12 or equivalent will be considered for entry into undergraduate courses.
Wentworth Institute recognises that previous academic success is only one indicator of suitability for admission into a course and therefore all students will be interviewed to assess suitability for admission into their chosen program of study.
Applicants with higher education study
Students who have successfully undertaken an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) at a recognised institution will be considered for admission into postgraduate programs. For more information read about admission criteria.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people
Wentworth Institute is committed to providing higher education pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who do not have an Australian Year 12 or equivalent may apply to study at Wentworth Institute through a pathway program. In addition, Wentworth Institute has scholarships available specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications
Australian citizens or permanent residents with overseas qualifications are assessed after they have provided certified documents for academic achievements (and transcript if relevant).
English language proficiency
Students whose first language is not English must demonstrate competency in the English language. English proficiency can be demonstrated by providing proof of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall test result (or equivalent alternative test result) that meets the specified level of English proficiency denoted for the course.
How to apply
The Assistant Registrar is the first point of contact for inquiries and advice relating to enrolment and fees. You may also contact an academic course advisor to discuss your application on (02) 8252 9969. Shortly after you apply to WIN, you will be contacted to attend an interview with the course adviser. Do not apply through UAC.
Enrolment
You will receive information about acceptance and enrolment procedures with your letter of offer, which will be posted and emailed to you within seven days of your attending the application interview.
Advanced standing
Wentworth Institute will recognise prior learning, and grant credit for that learning, provided it is relevant, current and equivalent to the learning required for Wentworth Institute’s academic programs and courses, and in accordance with the Advanced Standing and Credit Transfer Policy and Procedure. Financial assistance

Scholarships
Our domestic undergraduate scholarships are available to a wide cohort of students, whether you are a high achiever or have suffered challenges in your schooling.
- Merit scholarships are available to anyone who achieves an excellent ATAR.
- Equity scholarships are for high-achieving students who have faced significant challenges: financial, medical or disability issues, refugee status, or have come from a rural area.
There are also scholarships specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Wentworth Institute offers a range of student support services and experiences. These include counselling, academic assistance and learning support, career advice and social activities, including an active Students’ Association.
