Policies and Services

Admission criteria

Students can submit an application anytime online, by email, post or in person. UTS College has a range of pathway programs leading to UTS with some courses offering guaranteed entry in a UTS bachelor degree if GPA criteria are met.

Year 12 students completing the Higher School Certificate (HSC) in NSW can apply directly as the Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) is not used for admission to courses. Alternatively, UTS College uses the average mark from the HSC results, calculated from the results in English and three best Board developed courses.

Applicants with work and life experience

Work and life experience are not criteria used for assessment.

Finished secondary education more than two years ago?

For students who have completed secondary education more than two years ago, please contact UTS College.

Applicants with higher education study

For students who may have completed a higher education program with another provider, or have commenced a bachelor degree, you may be able to use that qualification to apply for a UTS College Diploma course. You will need to provide your HSC results, up to date Higher Education transcript and final qualification if available, at time of application.

Subjects completed in previous study that are comparable to subjects of the chosen UTS College Diploma program may be used as credit towards your Diploma, reducing both cost and possibly length of study. Applications for Recognition of Prior Learning can be made at time of application.

Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study

If students have completed a Diploma level qualification that is recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), it may be used as a basis for admission into one of the UTS College Diploma programs. Please provide a transcript and Diploma at time of application.

Subjects completed in previous study that are comparable to subjects of the chosen UTS College Diploma program may be used as credit towards your Diploma, reducing both cost and possibly length of study. Applications for Recognition of Prior Learning can be made at time of application.

Applicants with a recent secondary education (within the past two years)

Australian Year 12 students

As a Year 12 student completing your Higher School Certificate (HSC) in NSW (or interstate equivalent), you may apply directly to UTS College as we do not use the Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) for admission to courses. Alternatively, we use the average mark from the HSC results, calculated from your results in English and three best best Board developed courses.

Overseas Year 12

International Baccalaureate is assessed based on your final Aggregate. For all other Year 12 qualifications, please contact UTS College.

Enrolment

Acceptance of offer

Once you have received an offer, you can accept it so you can get started on your higher education journey. If you have a conditional offer letter, you will need to contact the Admissions Team by email admissions@utscollege.edu.au to seek advice on how to finalise your offer and enrolment.

Once you have received your full offer to study at UTS College, please read through the letter carefully. When you are ready to accept the offer, follow the detailed instructions on how to secure a place in your preferred Diploma program at UTS College. Accepting your offer and applying for FEE-HELP is done online via eStudent, by following the instructions outlined in the offer letter. If you are under 18 years of age, the acceptance form needs to be signed by you and your parent/legal guardian and returned as outlined in the offer. You may still apply for FEE-HELP online.

For offer acceptances other than FEE-HELP, follow the instructions outlined in the offer letter. You need to provide proof of payment and the completed acceptance form.
