Special consideration
Special consideration may be given to applicants who have special circumstances, including a long term medical condition, that may have disadvantaged them in their studies and which they wish to be taken into account in the assessment of their application. More information about applying for special consideration can be found on the UniSA website.
Equity
The Universities Equity Scheme will apply adjustments in two ways: to all applicants in certain specified schools and to eligible applicants in other schools. Eligible applicants will receive 5 points in the calculation of their university aggregate.
The scheme applies to all degrees offered at UniSA.
Entry pathways
As a university with a strong commitment to equity and access, we believe that people should have equal opportunities for further education. Whether you have no previous qualifications or you’ve already studied at a tertiary level through university, TAFE or another registered training organisation (RTO), UniSA offers a range of entry pathways to university study.
Minimum ATAR requirements
UniSA does not specify a minimum ATAR for our degrees however selection is competitive. To be eligible for admission to a UniSA coursework degree, you must meet both UniSA’s minimum entry requirements and any degree specific prerequisites where specified. This may include auditions, education statements or police checks for some of our degrees.
Age requirements
UniSA has no minimum age requirements. However, to be eligible for special entry you must be aged over 18 by 1 February (1 July for midyear) in the year you wish to commence your study and not have studied more than two years of equivalent full-time study at higher education level, unless you have had no enrolments during the preceding two years.
Applicants with HE study
To be eligible for selection into a UniSA degree, diploma or associate degree program using your higher education qualifications, you are required to have fulfilled any prerequisite requirements and other academic requirements for the degree and have completed: - at least half a year if full-time equivalent tertiary study, or - at least four courses from Open Universities Australia, or uniSA Diploma program or Diploma program for SAIBT or Eynesbury.

Credit
Your Higher Education qualifications may do more than gain you admission to your UniSA degree. If you gain a place in a relevant UniSA program, you may also be eligible to receive a credit transfer for your previous study, normally reducing the time it takes to complete your degree.
Applicants with VET Study
Applicants with work and life experience are those who left secondary education more than two years ago (i.e. who are not classified as recent secondary education applicants) and have not undertaken vocational education training (VET) or higher education study since then.
To be eligible for selection into a UniSA degree, diploma or associate degree program using your VET qualifications, you are required to have fulfilled any prerequisite requirements and other academic requirements for the degree and completed:
-a certificate IV, diploma or advanced diploma from a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or -the SACE (or interstate equivalent), achieving a competitive Selection Rank and meeting any prerequisite requirements.
