Winner of the Large Training Provider of the Year 2024 at the Victorian Training Awards, Melbourne Polytechnic offers a different way to learn. We have been delivering Vocational Training since 1912 and are one of the largest providers in Victoria.

Courses take place across our Campus locations at Collingwood, Epping, Fairfield, Greensborough, Heidelberg, Prahran and Preston, and our Training Centre at Eden Park. Our programs focus on practical skills and hands-on experience, and our students graduate with the knowledge they need to thrive in their careers.

Our Student Services aims to provide much of the support you might need during your time at Melbourne Polytechnic. We are here to help maximise your potential, grow with you and guide you to the future you really want.

Koorie Services Centre

The Koorie Services staff are here to support all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who enrol in any course at Melbourne Polytechnic. The staff are committed to assisting students in their educational journey in particular, financial assistance with the enrolment process and tutorial assistance. SLAM (Student life at MelbPoly)

The SLAM team provides a range of activities, on and off-campus events, competitions, giveaways, trips and tours and so much more. We collaborate with Tertiary Recreation and Entertainment Victoria (TREV) to deliver sporting and social programs with other TAFEs and universities. All on-campus events are free and are open to all Melbourne Polytechnic students. Your time at Melbourne Polytechnic is not just about study, it's also about new experiences, new friends and having bucket loads of fun.

Financial assistance

Government financial assistance

The Australian Government loan schemes are there to assist eligible students with their study fees. HECS-HELP - assists eligible students in Commonwealth supported places. FEE-HELP - assists eligible fee-paying students pay their tuition fees for higher education courses. VET STUDENT LOAN - assists eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees for vocational education and training (VET) higher level qualifications (i.e. diploma and above).

Tuition payment Plan

There is an option to pay tuition fees for VET courses through a Tuition Payment Plan (TPP) managed by a third party, Debitsuccess Pty Ltd, one of the largest direct debit providers in Australia. Under a TPP, you authorise Debitsuccess to automatically debit tuition fees from your bank account or credit card on a weekly or fortnightly basis over a set period of time.
