About
Melbourne Institute of Technology is a Higher Education Provider offering innovative degrees in Business with specialisations in Accounting, Management and Marketing, IT Computer Networking and Telecommunications Engineering.
We are a growing popular Higher Education Institution. Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT) was founded in 1996, and expanded to Sydney in 2003 and is currently teaching more than 3000 students across our Sydney and Melbourne campuses.
We take pride in all our courses but particularly in our IT Computer Networking course. We offer specialisations in Cyber Security, Software Engineering and Cloud Networks which deliver IT skills and knowledge that will be in demand in years to come as we enter the digital era.
Our Telecommunications Engineering courses are accredited by Engineers Australia. We are the first and only non-university higher education institute accredited by Engineers Australia.
Our Bachelor of Business Accounting Major is accredited by governing professional bodies including CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants and IPA, meaning that our Accounting students graduate ready to meet the professional demands of the local and global job market.
Our student experience is also highly individualised to support and nurture student learning every step of the way. Students are guided by highly qualified teaching staff and benefit from the individual attention made possible by small class sizes and tutorial groups. Tutorial and assignment work involves applying industry relevant case studies which develop critical employability skills such as communication and analysis, cultural awareness and business ethics.
We understand that industry experience and exposure is essential to career preparation. We try our best to support students in finding work placements where they can apply their learning to real-life situations in business.
Our Melbourne campus is located in the CBD at the historic Argus building and the Sydney campus is located in the heart of Sydney City. Our facilities are modern and complete with interactive, study environments.
MIT has three trimesters in one academic year – each trimester being the equivalent of one traditional semester. Students can choose to study three trimesters, if they wish, and complete a three year degree in just two years. The trimester systems also allows students to spread a traditional two semester year over three trimesters – doing fewer units in each trimester in order to manage work and personal commitments. Another option is to use the November trimester to catch up on units.
