About
As Australia's only independent higher education agricultural, agribusiness and equine business management institution, Marcus Oldham offers students a unique educational experience.
Since 1962, Marcus Oldham at Geelong Victoria, has built an enviable reputation both nationally and internationally for preparing business leaders who pursue successful careers in the farming, agribusiness and equine management sectors.
The difference with Marcus is its unique ability to develop the individual. Similar to the Harvard experience, the Marcus model is based on case study learning. Students enjoy high student contact hours, small class sizes, excellent full-time and sessional lecturers who have extensive commercial experience and can relate theory to practice.
The courses are developed in close consultation with the relevant industries and incorporate new trends and technology into the teaching programs. The emphasis is on business management which provides skills that are readily transferable across a wide range of careers, resulting in highly employable graduates who are at the leading edge of their chosen fields. Marcus Oldham enjoys a near 100% job placement rate for its graduates.
Studying at Marcus Oldham means you experience so much more than simply an education. The extensive use of study tours at both a national and international level provide a 'real world' education that complements the lecture room tuition.
Living on campus is an enriching social and learning experience and provides an excellent environment in which to live and study. The campus is nestled on 200 hectares in Geelong and enjoys a convenient geographic location to allow a good life in leisure hours: 25 minutes from world class surf beaches and the Great Ocean Road, a one hour drive via the Geelong Ring Road to Melbourne, frequent train services, and two airports - Avalon 30 minutes and Tullamarine 90 minutes, benefit students attending from all across Australia and overseas.
Most students choose on-campus accommodation which is individual bed/study rooms all connected to the College internal IT system and free internet. The Computer Room and Library are accessible 24 hours seven days per week for study.
The Dining Room is a central feature of the College and all students enjoy three meals a day, seven days a week in term time. Morning tea is available on weekdays. As students undertake one-day, multi-day and international study tours, living on campus is convenient for those tours that depart early in the day or return in the evening. It also makes it easy to be involved in sporting and social activities.
There is a large network of Old Students, employers, sponsors and industry contacts willing to assist students to advance their careers.
