About
Christian Heritage College (CHC) is located in Brisbane's south-east, in the leafy suburb of Carindale, just 10 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. CHC is a boutique institute of higher education that offers academic excellence with a Christian worldview.
CHC has one of Queensland's highest graduate employment rates for education and student satisfaction, and it ranks highly in teaching quality and student support (QILT).
Our undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business, education, ministries, human services, and counselling offer an integration of faith and technical acumen. You do not need to be a Christian to apply.
Small class sizes, individualised programmes, and quality one-on-one advice from lecturers both support and encourage students to achieve their best. The atmosphere of inclusion and shared aspirations makes life at CHC a rewarding experience, with many students continuing their association with the CHC community long after they graduate.
CHC forms part of the 92-acre campus, with Christian schooling and associated childcare centres onsite. CHC offers plenty of free parking, with public transport available within walking distance, and bicycle and walking paths link the campus to surrounding suburbs.
Applications for all undergraduate courses and Master of Teaching courses are made through QTAC. Applications for all other courses are made directly to CHC. Entry to undergraduate courses normally requires the completion of Year 12 (or equivalent) and the achievement of a minimum ATAR, but non-ATAR students may be eligible for admission if they achieve a minimum QTAC Selection Rank based on other studies, such as vocational courses. Some courses have additional admission requirements; for example, some counselling and ministry courses require referees, a personal statement, and, in some cases, an interview. Policies and Services
Admission criteria
All applicants
To be eligible for admission to a CHC course, you must satisfy all entry requirements. These requirements include English language proficiency, subject prerequisites, entry score (ATAR/selection rank) and, for some courses, course-specific requirements. Course-specific information can be found on the relevant course pages of the CHC website.
CHC does not use ATARs or selection ranks as the sole indicator of entry eligibility (some course exceptions may apply). For entry to certain courses, CHC may request referee reports, a personal statement and, in some cases, an interview.
Applicants with higher education study
If you have undertaken previous recognised higher education level study (e.g. AQF bachelor degree level or higher) this will be assigned a selection rank based on the level, duration and Grade Point Average (GPA) of the study.
CHC does not use ATARs or selection ranks as the sole indicator of entry eligibility (some course exceptions may apply). For entry to certain courses, CHC may request referee reports, a personal statement and, in some cases, an interview.
Completed bridging or enabling course
CHC recognises a number of other tertiary preparation, bridging and foundation programs offered by higher education providers across Australia. Contact CHC for more information.

Applicants with VET study
Competency-based and graded AQF certificates III and IV (if completed), AQF diplomas and sub-degree level study (based on level, duration, Grade Point Average (GPA)) will be assigned a selection rank.

Applicants with work and life experience
If you do not have formal qualifications, you may use admission pathways such as employment experience and the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT); age restrictions apply. Some exceptions may apply to courses with additional entry requirements.
STAT and employment experience are not accepted for current Year 12 students.

Applicants with recent secondary education
Current Queensland Year 12 students will be considered for an offer based on their ATAR (or other recognised qualifications undertaken while at school).
Current Queensland Year 12 students who are ineligible to receive an ATAR will be considered for an offer based on ranks from other recognised qualifications undertaken while at school. Alternatively, they may be considered for entry under one of CHC's Special Entry schemes for which an ATAR might not be required.
Current Interstate Year 12 students will be assigned a selection rank based on their ATAR and will be considered for an offer based on this selection rank (or other recognised qualifications undertaken while at school).
Current International Baccalaureate (IB) students will be assigned a selection rank based on the score from the completed IB Diploma. As agreed by admissions centres around Australia, the IB score is converted to a 'combined rank'. The combined rank is on the same scale as the ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank). This is then converted to selection rank. For more information read about International Baccalaureate (IB) studies on the QTAC website. IB Diploma students will be considered for an offer based on this selection rank (or other recognised qualifications undertaken while at school).
Results from Home Schooling, Accelerated Christian Education and other non-standard Year 12 programs (with SAT tests) may also be assigned a selection rank and considered for an offer based on this selection rank (or other recognised qualifications undertaken while at school).
Applicants with Overseas Year 12 Study
CHC will consider equivalent overseas Year 12 qualifications for admissions purposes. Contact CHC for more information. Students who have secondary or tertiary qualifications from countries where English is not the standard language of instruction, must provide evidence of English language proficiency.
Other Qualifications Completed in Year 12
Other recognised qualifications completed when at school such as completed competency-based and graded AQF Certificates III and IV (completed), diplomas, higher education study, and some creative arts qualifications (in the areas of music, dance, and speech) will also be assigned a selection rank.
Applicants are also required to meet relevant subject prerequisites for the courses they are applying for. This will be satisfied by successful completion of Senior secondary subjects (or equivalent). Any additional entry requirements must also be satisfied.
Rank-Related Adjustments - Current Year 12 Applicants
CHC offers the following admissions schemes to current Year 12 applicants:
CHC Partnership School Scheme
Students who complete Year 12 at a CHC Partner School receive an adjustment of two (2) ranks.
Community Engagement Bonus Scheme
The CHC Community Engagement Scheme allows for an adjustment of two (2) selection ranks to be applied to applicants in CHC’s catchment area, according to their residential postcode.
Educational Access Scheme (EAS)
EAS is for students who have experienced difficult circumstances that have adversely impacted on their studies. To be considered, applicants apply to QTAC for a confidential assessment of their circumstances. A maximum of eight (8) rank adjustments may apply.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Applicants who have identified as Indigenous Australians on their QTAC application should contact CHC for information regarding the assistance available to receive an offer of a tertiary place.
Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications
Domestic students with overseas qualifications should contact CHC for information on how their qualifications will be assessed for entry.
English language proficiency
CHC requires students to demonstrate that they can speak, write, read and comprehend English to a specified standard. Visit the CHC website for information on English proficiency requirements, including ways to demonstrate English language proficiency.
How to apply
Domestic students applying for undergraduate study and the postgraduate Master of Teaching courses apply through QTAC.
Previous students who have attended CHC within the last two years apply direct to CHC.
International students studying Year 12 in Australia, and applying for undergraduate study, apply through QTAC.
All other international students apply direct to CHC.
Applications for all postgraduate courses except the Master of Teaching courses are made directly to CHC.
Enrolment
Accepting an offer
QTAC applicants are notified of their CHC offer by email and must respond to their offer online by the due date. Applicants accepting their offer can find enrolment information via a link in their QTAC application.
Direct applicants are notified of the outcome of their application by email. Successful applicants can find enrolment information on the Getting Started page on the CHC website.
Timing of Offers
CHC makes year-round offers for most courses. Semester 1 offers will take place between August and February. Semester 2 offers will occur between March and June.
Deferment

Commonwealth support and assistance
CHC has Commonwealth supported places available in its undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education courses. If you are an Australian citizen, an eligible New Zealand citizen who is an SCV holder or the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian visa, you can access HECS-HELP for your Commonwealth supported place. For all other courses, FEE-HELP is available to Australian citizens, eligible New Zealand citizens who are SCV holders and holders of Permanent Humanitarian visas.
Student and Campus Services
Student facilities
Computers and free wireless internet are available for student use, and individual Office 365 accounts provide easy access to emails and documents both on and off campus.
With Rivers Café onsite and peaceful bushland surroundings, there are some great places to study, catch up with friends or just chill for a while. In addition, the air-conditioned Student Common Room is a place to relax, with a kitchen with tea and coffee facilities, microwave ovens, fridges and vending machines, and a pool table and large-screen TV.
Library +
The CHC Library + building is the hub of the CHC community. It holds a significant collection of research materials and is equipped with individual and group study areas, such as seminar rooms and open research spaces, to encourage and support student learning.
