About

The Australian Institute of Music (AIM) is Australia's only private music school totally dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in music. We're not an arts college or a design school: music rules our world. We've been teaching – and playing – for over 50 years, and in that time we've helped thousands of students to follow their musical ambitions through our giant campuses in the heart of Melbourne and Sydney.

We've created star performers, hit songwriters and record label executives, and propelled countless students into successful, long-running musical and music business careers. And most importantly, nurtured talented people just like you, helping them to take their craft and their passion to the highest level.

We're uncompromisingly creative, contemporary and progressive in our outlook. This means we can give you an outstanding choice of musical and arts and entertainment management degrees of the highest academic quality – with both bachelor degrees and masters programs. We also offer a welcoming, inspiring environment in which you can find your place in the musical world, collaborate with like-minded people, and really thrive.

Our AIM Sydney campus is centrally located in the CBD, one block from Central Station. After undergoing a multi million dollar renovation in 2019, the campus features music production studios, ensemble rehearsal rooms, individual private lesson studios and world class performance venues.

We're the most passionate music lovers you've ever likely to meet, and we're inspired every day by the chance to pass on that passion to people just like you – that's why we put music first in everything we do.

So if you're the kind of person who can't imagine a life without music; who always hung around the music room after school; who stays up late to practice or unlock a complex new chord structure; who's always in the front row at gigs; who worships players and performers; or who's endlessly fascinated with the magic and mystery of how music is created, manipulated, recorded and performed – we're the music school for you.
